Winery Websites

Website Design for Wineries

Website Design & Development for Wineries Small and Large

Our sites express the unique characteristics of your winery, vineyard and culture by putting images, video and creative media front and center. You won’t find cheesy templates here.

Our winery websites are built on WordPress and Squarespace content management systems, allowing you to easily edit your site after launch.

Some companies will quote you 10k+ for a winery website. Don’t be conned. Our websites are competitively priced and cater to all types of wineries.

All winery websites automatically resize themselves for optimal viewing on every screen size. Your website will be equally beautiful on your phone and desktop.

We help you determine the best online store system for your winery and integrate it into your new website (includes Vinespring, WooCommerce, VinoShipper, Squarespace Commerce, Orderport, etc)

We offer reliable ongoing tech support for your winery website, including security upgrades, data backups, and one hour monthly content changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is payment due?

After you provide your project details, we will give you a final quote and contract. 1/2 of the total project cost is due at the start of the project with your signed contract, and the remainder upon completion and launch of your new website.

What defines a ‘page’?

Pages each have their own specific URL (, Separate sections of your website that have their own images, text content and design elements constitute these pages, and usually consist of the Home Page, About, News, Events, Wine Club, Vineyards, Winemaking, Contact, etc. Most wineries will not be in danger of going over the number of pages provided in our website build packages (12 WordPress, 6 Squarespace). We actively design to consolidate your content onto fewer pages to improve user experience and navigability. Basic text-only information pages like policy pages don’t count towards the page count. The online store and associated product pages also don’t count towards the page count.

What tech support is provided?

All websites are given guaranteed, unlimited tech support through the first month after launch. Following this period, we have a $50/month tech support plan that covers everything you will need for continual upgrades, security and support of your site. This service is required for our WordPress websites, which are more vulnerable to security threats, outdated plugins and server-related outages than Squarespace.

What if I need just one landing page rather than a full build?

There are many reasons to do one-page sites, most often related to a winery that is under construction and lacking photographs to flesh out a full site. In these circumstances, we will propose a package that allows for a one-page website now followed by a full build later down the road.

What if I need a large-scale website for a wine region?

We’ve created several large websites for AVAs and wine regions. These websites are much larger than a standard winery website and come with additional features like winery directories, reservation systems, and virtual-reality integrations. The general cost of these sites is 8-16k depending on breadth and features.

Do you do graphic design?

We have extensive Adobe Creative Cloud experience and do all image management, alterations and optimizations in-house and as part of the design process. Sourcing of images, icons, etc., are all included as part of the design process. However, custom illustrations and drawings may need to be sourced from a dedicated graphic designer. Vinbound has several affiliate designers, but ultimately you may choose whomever you prefer.

 Why is WordPress more expensive?

WordPress powers 25% of all websites on the internet (including this one). From a development standpoint, it simply takes more time to create WordPress websites. However, the tradeoff is a much more customizable website than SquareSpace, which relies on one of 45 template bases. WordPress can handle much larger websites (great for established wineries or AVAs) and comes equipped with powerful plugins that do things like boost search engine rankings, create interactive vineyard maps, and offer full reservation booking systems. The WordPress package also includes up to 12 pages, as opposed to 6 pages for the Squarespace package (extra pages available for $200 each on both platforms).

Do you work with third party designers?

Yes. Most of the time Vinbound handles all of the website design and development in-house. However, we are happy to develop your website from an approved design provided by the external designer/agency of your choice.

What about domain names and hosting?

We can help you secure and renew your domain name as well as set up your website hosting. However, fees for domain name management and hosting are separate from Vinbound and paid directly to the hosting provider. Estimated costs are:

Domain name registration: Averages $14.95/year
SquareSpace Website Hosting: $144/year  – $300/year
WordPress Website Hosting: $50/year no Ecommerce, $100/year Ecommerce (on the excellent Siteground hosting service)
SSL Certificate: Free on Squarespace or WordPress websites on Siteground.

What is the design timeline?

This depends on our current workload and the size of your project. Once you have provided all the assets needed (photos, text, etc.), we aim to have your SquareSpace site ready to launch in 2-4 weeks. WordPress sites take longer, typically 4-6 weeks depending on size and rounds of revisions.

What other services might we need beyond web design?

We provide a wide range of digital marketing services beyond web design, including aerial photography, wine bottle shots, ongoing website management, email marketing, and more. Use the navigation at top to jump to the service section relevant to you. A list of add-on services are also listed on the Squarespace and WordPress website detail pages.
